From trombone to voice, and piano to trumpet, Albion College music faculty are equipped to perform.

On Sunday in Goodrich Chapel, students and visitors alike heard a range of music from applied instructor of trumpet and trumpeter Matthew Kay, staff accompanist and pianist Nicholas Laban, visiting professor of voice and soprano Jenny Ribeiro and applied instructor of low brass and trombonist John Robinson.

Ribeiro presented multiple arias, some featuring a theme of ghosts.

“It’s mostly just a way for us to showcase what we’ve been working on and the kinds of things that we want to perform for people,” Ribeiro said.

Each faculty member performed at least one piece, with Laban accompanying everyone on the piano as well as performing a solo act.

“I think that this is a great way for the music faculty to just kind of showcase the kinds of things that students can get to eventually in their musical practice,” Ribeiro said.

The music department’s next performance, which will feature Concert Choir, Briton singers and Symphony Orchestra, is the Homecoming Concert on Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
