The Britons finished their first home game of the season with a 25-17 win against the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Fightin’ Engineers.

The stands were full on Saturday as the Britons took the field, starting off the first quarter with a 3-0 lead eight minutes in. By the second quarter, the Britons were up another seven points, earning a lead they kept through the rest of the game, despite a comeback from the Engineers in the final quarter.

Fans were joined in the stands by the Briton Brigade marching band. Junior drum major and Jackson junior Connor Ganzel said he was excited to be back in the stands, adding that the band has a “great” first-year class.

“I’m really excited for the rest of the season,” Ganzel said. “I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes.”

On the sidelines, Albion’s cheer team, led by cheer coach Mercedes Pace, alumna ‘20, returned for their second year on campus after bringing the team back last year.

“It feels great,” Pace said. “We started with a team of 12 last year, we’re up to 28 this year.”

The Britons will take on their next home game tomorrow at 6 p.m. against Trine University.
