Getting ready in the mornings is already hard. Getting up earlier than your roommate is even harder. As a people pleaser, I hate disturbing my roomie when I’m getting ready for the day, so I created a fool-proof morning routine –  which includes no lights or sounds, as to not disturb the roomie in question. So no music, soft lighting or regular lighting, for that matter.

After brushing my teeth, I start off with my skincare routine, as I’m prone to breakouts due to stress. I like to use a snail toner and preventative serums, along with my favorite Peach Slices hydrating toner. I usually just feel my face when putting on products, hoping that it’s evenly absorbed in my face, completely in silence, alone with my thoughts.

I never leave without makeup most of the time. I find light makeup more manageable and quieter to put on. I use an Elf brow gel, liquid blush, highlighter and mascara. I tend to blush on the apple of my cheeks. As you can see in the photo, I chose hot pink for my blush today – at least I think I did.

My hair isn’t too hard of a challenge as it is naturally wavy, and if I protect it in my sleep I’d be ready to go. However, today is a wash day, so I’m putting my hair into English braids, which keep my hair out of my face during the school day.

The trickiest part of my morning is getting dressed. Closet doors and drawers can be loud, but I am picky. To avoid disturbing my roommate, I plan my outfit the night before while they’re still awake. In the spring, I tend to wear jeans and a t-shirt – sometimes I’ll throw on a sweatshirt if I don’t feel like wearing a coat.

Then I head out for classes and breakfast to leave my roommate to sleep peacefully! I get a few weird looks here and there, but all-in-all I find it a successful morning routine. Hope this helps!
