Today a mass text from Campus Safety was sent out to those on Albion’s campus that there was a campus wide Internet failure. This loss of connection, a problem of two different servers, resulted in changed plans, postponed homework and a serious inconvenience to those who rely on technology on a daily—if not hourly—basis.
Help Desk department is working to resolve the problem and get things running again. As of 1:30 p.m., one server was restored, but it was uncertain how long it will take to restore the Internet to its full connection. The cause of the problems was not confirmed.

**Update: The internet returned to full-speed shortly after 3 p.m. later that day, with Help Desk releasing an email to students explaining the source of the problem.
The email stated, “Shortly before noon today, construction at the Albion High School cut the fiber cable feeding one of our two redundant internet connections to campus. Due to the nature of the outage, our redundant connection to a secondary provider also went down.”
The problem is believed to be resolved and should no longer be an issue. Help Desk urges students to contact them if they experience any problems with their internet connection over the weekend.
